Turner Prize at Tate Britain

Four artists on this year’s shortlist: Dexter Dalwood paints expressive luminous pieces full of hidden characters. White Flag was my favourite. Angela de la Cruz’s objets trouvés sculptures are a little harder to love, but still engaging. My favourite was “Untitled” (two large black “boxes” joined together). Susan Philipsz’ sound installation required more time than I wanted to give. Unconvinced. The Otolith Group’s video installation was too complicated for me and again time consuming. Most disappointing though: nobody else was in the exhibition despite there being more than 100 people downstairs at the Muybridge private viewing. Don’t just criticise from afar, go and engage with it. Then give it 5/10
